Birthday Party

We had a lovely time with family last night. My son Clayton (bubba) turned 30 and my son Seth turned 27. Born 3 years apart on May 2. My sweet DIL Liz has a birthday today! I'm not going to reveal her age. I don't want to get myself in trouble...lol. We had sloppy joes and birthday cake. We had to make cake twice because in 3+ years of working too much I had lost some of my cooking skills. Well, maybe anyone can forget to put the baking soda in. Oh well, a store bought cake mix saved the day and we can use the homemade applesauce cake for "waffles" like Seth suggested.

NEW GRANDSON - LUCAS WILLIAM BURGESS

I'm sorry for not being more consistent with my blogging. It is a work in progress and a habit I need to develop. Here is the newest member of our family. Lucas William Burgess was born February 12, 2009. He weighed 7 lbs and was 20.5 inches long. His baby blessing will be this Sunday, May 3, 2009 at 9:00 am at our church building here in Lehi. He sure looks like his Daddy.

NAVY BLUE SHORT SOCKS

Its a beautiful but cold Sunday. I am working on my woolease socks. This is a toe up pattern using the wrap and turn method for the toes and heels. Right now, it is my favorite method for knitting socks. I will be redoing the first sock. I did a 1x1 rib of 4 rows and 4 rows stockinette stitch for a rolled top. It doesn't have enough stretch to be easy to put on. I will try a 2x2 rib and then 4 rows stockinette stitch and see if it is more comfortable. I hope to have them finished by tonight.
